Precision Craftsmanship for Your Musical Legacy
Ketiminetrail is a professional musical instrument maintenance workshop located in the heart of Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. Since our founding in 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to ensuring that every instrument—from student models to professional concert pieces—reaches its full sonic potential through meticulous adjustment and careful preservation. We believe that music is born from a commitment to detail, and we provide the technical support necessary to translate a performer's intention into pure sound.
Our Philosophy and Technical Approach
We view a musical instrument not merely as a tool, but as a lifelong partner to the musician. Consequently, we avoid one-size-fits-all adjustments. Instead, we seek the optimal balance based on the unique characteristics of each individual instrument and the specific musical style or repertoire of the player. Our goal is to minimize playing stress and physical resistance while respecting the original tonal integrity of the instrument.
Our workflow begins with a comprehensive diagnostic phase. We accurately assess structural alignment, wear patterns, and material fatigue before proposing any intervention. By employing methods that minimize stress on the wood and metal, we prioritize the long-term longevity and stability of the instrument over quick, temporary fixes.
Our Specialist Team
CEO & Master Luthier. Oversees all workshop operations and specializes in the design and construction of custom instruments requiring advanced structural engineering.
String Instrument Specialist. Expert in the setup of violins and cellos, specializing in bridge carving, soundpost positioning, and tonal optimization.
Wind Instrument Technician. Responsible for the maintenance of saxophones and clarinets, including deep cleaning, pad replacement, and mechanical regulation.
Workshop Facilities and Environmental Control
The materials used in musical instruments, particularly rare tonewoods and alloys, are extremely sensitive to atmospheric changes. To mitigate this, our 45m² workshop is equipped with a professional climate control system that maintains humidity strictly between 45% and 55% throughout the year. This stability prevents the wood from shrinking or expanding, ensuring that our adjustments remain consistent after the instrument leaves the shop.
We combine traditional hand tools with modern precision measuring equipment to achieve micron-level accuracy in fret leveling and tension adjustments. Working in a quiet, focused environment allows us to dedicate the necessary time to every single project without compromise.
